Greetings From GALLUP New Mexico

CHURCH ROCK
On U.S. 66, East of Gallup, New Mexico
(In the Red Rock Area)

This strange formation of rock resembles a giant church from a distance, when seen from one perspective. From another, it seems to be a person in prayer before an altar. Either view is fascinating, especially when consideration is given to the fact that this church rock and all around it is the product of erosion by the elements.

We made it to the Pacific Ocean & took a 2 hour cruise around the harbour and into the ocean. Sailors & ships everywhere. The old boy is looking over those mini skirts & Mexican girls & his eye balls are getting glazed. Those gray spots in his head are not in very fertile soil. Hope all is well at home with you both

WEST TEXAS — The Rio Grande meanders toward the Sierra del Carmen and a spectacular canyon it has cut through these mountains in Big Bend National Park. The historic Comanche Trail crosses near the Mexican village of Boquillas shown in the distance above the Rio Grande.

Barrel Cactus of the Desert

A FIELD OF BARREL CACTUS — They bloom profusely throughout New Mexico and Northern Mexico in July, August and September. Flowers range in color from bright yellow to deep red. “The Candy Cactus.”

The flowers at Rockport are just beautiful and the hanging baskets are lovely. Took boat ride today all around Gloucester Harbor. Weather perfect. Tomorrow expect to go to Gloucester and Magnolia.

THE CAPITOL AT TWILIGHT

This early-evening view of the Capitol’s West Front, was taken from the dome of the Library of Congress, across the Capitol Plaza. The Capitol stands on the high ground of a plateau rising 88 feet above the Potomac River. Now famous as Capitol Hill, this site was a thickly wooded area called Jenkins Hill before construction began in 1794. Although the Capitol is lighted at night, it is open to the public only between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., daily except Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Hi! We went to this Storyland Sun. About a 2 hr. drive from here. Took a ride on “this”. Bobby rose in the cage at rear. Matt rose with D,J.&T.! All the rides were free. I doubt if I will be flying to Roch. I guess D not sure of definite days of Sun Mon of cruise. Lots of overdoing to do here yet. Had to havea new ceiling in the kitchen, new floor in B.room plus still more work to do in kitchen, etc. Bobby is watching for Pk.!Dont know just when I'll go but in the event plans changewill call you.
